Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Hansom qualified in Medicine with distinction from the University of Aberdeen in 2008, before completing junior doctor and Orthopaedic specialist training across the West of Scotland, alongside a research MD at the University of Glasgow. He went on to complete three international fellowships in Auckland, New Zealand, in joint replacement and soft-tissue knee surgery, sports knee injuries, and orthopaedic trauma.

Alongside his surgical practice, Mr Hansom is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow and a member of the Academy of Clinical Educators at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He also serves as Associate Editor for the journal Orthopaedics & Traumatology: Surgery & Research.

Mr Hansom holds a substantive NHS consultant post at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, alongside private practice with Circle Health Group at Kings Park Hospital in Stirling and Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow, as well as Lanarkshire Private Clinic in Hamilton. His practice centres on primary hip and knee replacement, arthroscopic soft-tissue knee surgery and ligament reconstruction, tibial and femoral osteotomies, as well as patellar/patellofemoral realignment surgery.
